Jerry Rutledge, DREI, CREI, CMC

Inaugural recipient of the Texas Real Estate Teachers Association's (TRETA) "Jerry Rutledge Global Visionary Award"

Completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Detroit majoring in Economics and Finance and his Graduate work at Northwestern University, Graduate School of Business where he majored in Finance with a specialty in Real Estate.

Rutledge began his experience in Real Estate Education 30 years ago as an Instructor and Associate Professor at a College and a University in Michigan.  As Chairperson of the Advisory Committee, Rutledge contributed by writing, revising and establishing a fully accredited Real Estate Science, Associates’ Degree Program In addition, Rutledge taught a majority of Real Estate college-accredited courses. 

Rutledge was a Real Estate Broker and Mortgage Broker, Vice President of the Real Estate Loan Department of a Commercial Bank and later President of a National Real Estate/Mortgage Banking Company with five divisions, including Mortgage Banking, Real Estate Sales, Management, Appraising and Housing and Urban Research with offices in Detroit, Birmingham, Ann Arbor and Washington, DC.

His background includes being a Founding Patron of the International Association of Corporate Real Estate Executives, Education Institute and a contributing member of the Texas Real Estate Teachers Association who awarded Rutledge the respected professional designation Certified Real Estate Instructor, CREI.   

Rutledge has also been awarded the Distinguished Real Estate Instructor, DREI, prestigious designation by the National Real Estate Educators Association where he served on the Board of Directors, Region 4 Vice President and Founder/President of the South Central Chapter/REEA consisting of TX, OK, LA, AR and MS.
He has also earned the esteemed “Certified Mortgage Consultant” (CMC) designation from the National Association of Mortgage Brokers which requires years of experience and vast knowledge of residential and commercial mortgage financing.  He serves as a Director for the Texas Association of Mortgage Brokers, TAMB, and is also the Legislative Chair for the Dallas Association of Mortgage Brokers, DAMB. 

As Owner/Operator, the Texas Savings and Mortgage Lending Dept, TSML, Texas Real Estate Commission, TREC, Texas State Board of Accountancy, CPAs, Texas State Bar, Attorneys and the Texas Rehabilitation Commission have approved him, and his statewide Provider School, Alliance Academy based in Dallas, Texas.

Rutledge is the Director of Education, Emeritus of the North Texas Commercial Association of Realtors, NTCAR, a Licensed Real Estate Broker and a Licensed Mortgage Broker, a Professional Member of the National Association of Mortgage Brokers, NAMB, the Texas Association of Mortgage Brokers, TAMB and served on the Texas Association of Realtors, TAR CID, Board of Governors.
